I’m quite lucky as I have the chance to work on lots of interesting and different projects that I am commissioned to work on.
One that I have done recently was a set of 6 wheel Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway from London Road models kits.
Here are some photos taken during the build process of the first one which was the Third class birdcage Brake coach. All of the construction was done using 145′ low temp solder.
The underside of the chassis, showing the centre wheel springing to help the centre wheels follow the rail head.
Next up was to add the two sets of bodyside beading in between the windows along with the door vents added above the doors.
The ends steps added with the pipe work yet to be installed.
The Main construction having been finished it was time to fill a couple of small blemishes before heading to the spray booth for some primer to further check the finished of the body work.
There are still another 2 to do, being another bird cage brake and a standard 3rd class.
Updates to follow
